Which is the better buy? The Harley Davidson XR1200 or the Kawasaki Z1000?
Which of these naked sports bikes is the better buy? (click here to read more about them both) The low priced, high horsepower Kawasaki, or the slightly more expensive XR1200, packing Harley Davidson style and power into a sport bike?
Just depends what you are looking for.I very briefly considered a ZX 14.Where in the heck are you going to ride it to it's potenial? My dealings in the past with Kawasaki warranty has not been good. After a few months I don't care for the foriegn bikes and sell them at a loss.Been very happy with my Nightster, will probably keep it for a long time, more or less keep myself out of trouble,it can scare the crap out of you if you want to ride it that way and it's a Harley.Would not consider that new sport, don't like the look and doesn't have the power, now that Rotex engine in a Sporster frame.............
The better buy?...Depends on whether or not you like throwing your money away on Japanese plastic... Regardless of performance specs, the Harley-Davidson is always the "better buy"
And again.. As I have stated before... Lets compare apples to apples here... The XR1200 is a flat track throwback... It was NOT designed to compete with modern day sportbikes in performance...
Think of it as a step between an XL and a VRSC... That's where the bike fits in from a performance standpoint... A nice little niche IMHO... But not for everyone
