I'm 99% sure its a Bendix....can't recall the model. Your right though not CV. What are you looking to do ? Is your original missing?

It is referred to as a Fixed Jet Kehin Carburetor. Bendix was before the Kehin. Worst carb in the world. You can get rebuild kits through Parts Unlimited and such. No rebuild kit for choke assembly/throttle plates. Don't know why anyone would want to rebuild one. Get a S&S if it is a 82 Shovel. Get the adapter from Kuryakyn if you have the "Ham Can." Looks stock, run's good.

I'm no expert but I recall seeing a '82 FXRS Super Glide that was totally stock and it had a Bendix. About 83 is when the Keihin 38mm came around.

But again...no expert here.

27500-82 is the part number. The Bendix was 1980 and later. the Kehin came out in 1981 on FX's and 82 on the first year FXR's.

Keihin came in 1976. First few years they weren't any better than the Bendix, as delivered from the MoCo. Spittin', sniffin', stalling at idle (always in heavy traffic at a light or stop sign, too!) seemed to be the norm. Usually a bit of rejetting, often just a simple pass with a drill bit through the existing jets, would cure them.

I've always had pretty good luck with either the Bendix or the Keihin butterfly carbs. They're dead simple, easy to work on, and work well on a close-to-stock bike. But I'm also a realist and know there are better carbs available. I'll use a Bendix or butterfly Keihin if that's what's wanted. Otherwise I have a couple CVs laying around, and an S&S E for my Sloptail.

Note: yes it is a Keihin.. I was puzzled when i looked at a book called harley encyclopedia, it said it was a Bendix... but i spoke with my old mechanic and he said it was a keihin.
