Default 99 Road King with DTC 35???

Yes, I've tried the search. I have a 99 RKC with 6700 miles that I picked up about a year ago. It had 3500 miles at the time. It has aftermarket pipes and the stage 1 kit. I changed spark plugs a year ago, did the 5000 mile service at 3700 miles and again at 6000 miles. It runs perfectly but threw two codes yesterday on my ride back from Daytona (about 100 miles) right after a very brief rain shower....just enough to get the bike wet. The codes were 16 and 35. I knew the battery was weak and probably the cause of 16, and when I pulled the battery this morning I found out it was installed 7.5 years ago, so it was definitely time for replacement. Installed new battery and code 16 went away but code 35 is still there (engine light on all the time still). The service manual states that code 35 is tachometer, except FLHRC-I, which just happens to be my bike. Since the Road King Classic doesn't have a tachometer, has anyone experienced a code 35, and how did you fix it?

Thanks in advance!

I'm not at all familiar with those scanalyzer codes since I deal primarily with DTC's on the newer bikes but after looking through HD-net for info and finding NO diagnostic codes listings for scanalyzer with the few exceptions and looking up some on the net from a "rival" website and finding some but not sure if they are the same as your bike, the codes I found for 16 were "low or high battery voltage" and the 35 was for "tachometer low or high" and "accelerometer fault". Dunno what an "accelerometer" is so I guess I'm no f help! I'm gonna go search that word so if you hear from me shortly, maybe I'll have something.

Accelerometer Fault is located in the TSM/TSSM. TSM would toss an engine light on but I think maybe it is caused by moisture in the connector since it first started after wet-ride. Does it reappear after clearing (or can you clear like a serial bus bike)?

robzuc97, greatly appreciate the assistance. There is no way to reset the code as long as it is a current code. I'll have to check the connector you mentioned tonight. Thanks again!
