06 Dyna inner primary bearing part #'s

Now, hang on a minute, thinking about this again, if shallow dowels were in the primary case and just flush with the holes in the gasket (two of which are bigger than the others) then that would fix the gasket in place there and then the plastic pegs would hold everything in place on the crankcase. What do you think, or am I way off line?

BTW, I havenât any dowels at the transmission end. I am hoping that the primary bearing itself is enough the centralise things here.

2008 models have different a different \\;tranny input shaft and inner promary bearing inner race.
 \\;
Why the redesign and what does this mean for the 07/06s?
 \\;
Could be nothing, could be something - does anybody have some insight into this?

That's what I'd like to know. They would not change them without a good reason.
It's the same tool that is used to pull the race off. It doubles as the installer also.
BEARING RACE PULLER AND INSTALLATION TOOL (Part No. HD-34902-B).
Be careful not to press the inner race on too far. there should be a gap between the race and the gearbox mainshaft oil seal. It says in the manual what it should be.
I have to get back on here and give a hats off to Earl Small's HD in Atlanta for doing the right thing to get me back on the saddle. They had me call the Moco Cust Svc. line and I went up the line there to get someone to calmly hear me out, they called the Dealer and between them - my bike is whole again and I am totally satisfied with their results. I get going sometimes like a few others and, to be fair, have a happy ending this time instead of the opposite. Persistence and diplomacy worked again! OLDED in Atl.
