I use to have a Buell X-1. \\;I road it like it was stolen and loved it. \\; Coming back from Iraq I bought a 08 FLTR Anni and in 3 months I have logged 7K. \\; Most of it being back roads I found a slight "shim" if you will, when I was taking corners at moderate speeds. \\; I then read about true track and I understand that it is for reducing wobble at high speeds and assists in the corners. \\; Are there any secondary or tierchary effects for getting true track installed? \\; Do I sacrifice comfort for cornering? \\; Removing the purpose of rubber mounted engines with a third stablizer must do something else to its designed characteristics. \\; I have to ask myself if I am still riding this touring bike like it is a Buell sportbike? \\;
 \\; \\; \\; \\; Naturally, when I went in for my 5k service, they tightened nearly 60 percent of the spokes and they said that the shim was probably ddue to loose spokes that would cause a slight wobble in the corners. \\; I took it out again and everything seemed fine.

Tru-Track, Ridestr8, TWR Missing Link all work &\\; your FLTR will be a much better bike with some kind of stabilizer on it. \\; Tracy's TWR Missing Link is just a better buy, &\\; you don't loose any ground clearance. \\; Do the research &\\; buy the one you like, but do get yourself a stabilizer!

Adding a stabilizer only effects the lateral movement of the swing arm. \\; The rubber mount still works in the vertical plane. \\; Your ride comfort is unaffected with the exception that the entire machine is a lot more stable. \\; The only thing you loose is the loose/wallowing feel of the frame. \\; The new stability will actually improve your speed since you'll have more confidence in the way the bike handles.
Any of the stabilizers (Ride Str8, TWR, Alloy Art, and True Track) do basically the same thing, which is to stabilize the lateral movement of the swingarm, but with the exception of the first two are quite different in design. After considerable research I decided on the Ride Str8, but that was one year ago, and since then the TWR has appeared. It is an almost identical design compared to the Ride Str8 but is considerably less expensive. There is no compromise in comfort, i.e. no increase in vibration. Here's my write-up on the Ride Str8, explaining why I selected it over the other options:
I recommend the TWR or Ridstr8 over the True Track, because you are obviously an agressive rider, and they won't scrape the ground on a sharp turn if you have lowered your bike, or plan to. \\; True Track is a much quicker installation. \\; The TWR is a fantastic product at a lower price, which is why I went with it, and have been extremely satisfied. \\; Contact sifularson, and he'll be able to help you get hooked up with Tracy if you are interested in the TWR.
How much difference will it make on an Ultra? I am a pretty straight up rider and don't take corners too hard and fast but have felt some instability at times.
Honestly, with your ridding style, I would save your money. JMO, but this is only really necessary if you push things some in the twisties.
