I think the point you are missing is that HD spends a lot of $$ for research and developement.
so true and they wouldn't dare save millions of dollars building bikes either... i am more than sure that the cast peice is cheaper to produce than aluminum.. and i am sure if harley can save 2 dollars apeice on the bikes they build by making this peice out of cast so it will be "just" good enough to function and be safe, they will.... and you think the money in R&D is to make **** better?. its also to find where you can cut, save, and slide by without having issues......

I have more trust in HD than in a piece of aluminum.
i bet all your parts on your bike or either stock or stricktly harley davidson too!

Well, maybe one day you'll find YOURSELF on the other side of that argument so we can find out what you think when the shoe is on the other foot. As in, when your out of work cause someone will do your job for a buck an hour less, or when the product YOU spend YOUR life savings developing, suddenly stops selling because of cheaper knockoffs.

Lemme guess, you think Walmart is the greatest thing ever?
well welcome to America! do your job with prideand quit pissin and moanin bout the pay you get for sleepin on the job while the boss aint there. and show some good ole American quality that is now barely existant. and i bet you can keep your job cause they wont need cheaper labor to fill your useless shoes if you do what your paid to and do it well

if the ridest8 is using harleys part and it only cost $55 then why does there product cost so much? should it not cost less than the TWR which is machined out of 6061-T6 ?
excellent point

What do you do with all those trophy pieces called your OLD BRACKET, you offer a, I believe a $40.00 credit for upon return to you? If you are not using all THIS OLD STUFF!! your walls must be full. here.here. now!!!!!! roid

The man who owns the patent for fitting three stabilizers to a bike is Erik Buell. All his bikes have them, also the latest Sportsters. So I reckon if anyone else is to be successful patenting the use of the 'missing' link they will have a tough time. Erik's patent has probably expired, which is why other firms are now making retrofit kits.

There are several other brands making these kits and they are available for other Harley models. Owners of earlier bikes, like my 1990 FLHS, will find TrueTrack make a kit that fits - I have one on mine and another on my wife's Dyna.

How can you direct your statementat me?? I have no affiliation to Ride-Str8 whatsoever. As a matter of fact, I don't own either stabilizer. I was simply looking into the differences between the two products before I made a decision. I cameupon what I thought was pertinent decision makinginformation that I wanted to share with the forum.
ISN'T THAT WHAT WE DO HERE???????
I take exception to anyone who thinks I am trying to pit one company against the other. I think you are all adult enough to make your own decisions. I don't care which one you choose, if any at all.
If you read the original post, I don't beleiveI was giving an opinion one way or the other. I was just providing structural information. I'm not an engineer and can only view this type information in layman terms and it sounded logical to me.
