How do you install headphone jack to stereo
My brother has a EG and wants to install a headphone jack for ipod/transistor radio style earphones.
I know how we can do the wiring... except I'm sure the stock
stereo wiring will overpower the earphones with direct wiring..
can a resistor or some other component be installed between the stock wiring and the earphone jack to prevent blowing out
the earphones???

You could pick-up a small volume control **** @ the local electronics store. wire that in-line & mount it next to the headphone jack. But if the stereo volume is low - you don't really run a risk of damaging the headphones.
My question tho is: How are you going to auto-kill the speakers when the jack is in use?
Also - it is illegal in most states to wear headphones that cover both ears. Jst a thought - it would be a crappy reason to get pulled over.

one rear speaker housing.
l/r speakers inputs from stereo(+) to center poles
l/r out to speakers one end of toggle
l/r out to headphone jack on other end...this is the end, between toggle and jack, that I need to modify..
Then my brother fades the speakers, from the stereo, to rear speakers and plugs in the headphones...
