Does this apply to the 08 bikes? I know at least with the 08 deluxe they top mounted the battery, standing up, verses posts on the side?

This happened to my Heritage and when I took it to the dealer Moco had a recall for this problem and they fixed it with a battery caddie. It encases the battery and keeps it away from the frame. Ill try and look for recall number on it.

Man, that is hideous! I had an '05 softail and never had anything like this happen, nor would I ever have expected it to.

I hope you get it fixed soon!

CHOPS! That is one fine looking sled you got there, man!

There was a recall on this issue last year. Had mine done. The tech said he had never heard of one actually grounding out.

My brother had this happen on his 1 day old 2007 Deuce last summer after he purchased. He just about roasted is nuts. The crazy thing about it was that he found out that the recall was already in effect before he purchased his bike. The dealer was willing to fix but not give him any additional compensation until the General Manager asked the Service Manager if he and his staff knew about the recall before they let the bike leave the floor. When the Service Manager replied that yes they knew of the recall but had not performed it, the General Manager looked at my brother and asked what exactly did he want. in the end the dealer took care of him but to this day neither of us understand why the bike left the floor without the work first.

I had the batt box recall done last year at the 1000 mi service. This is the first I heard of a ecm recall. Please pass more info on the ecm recall!
