Just went for my first ride after installing the ridestr8. Wow!

It's 36 degrees today and was raining and 21 degrees last nite, so was very careful keeping an eye out for patches of ice...only rode 35 miles and slower than normal. But what a difference, both straight and in the twists and turns!

Nothing "wrong" with the bike before, but so much nicer now!!! Hard to describe, but no mush or wallow.

I know this post has been well responded now for a long time. But I am trying to understand whats really wrong with these bikes. Sure I understand the motor and trans move different from the frame and cause a rear steer. And yea I see how the ride-str8 and such can help. Butthe back of the trans has the swing are attachedand that in turn is mountedin rubber dounuts to the frame. Ok now I see up and down movement in this but if the swing are mount is shimmmed correctly between the frame mounts there should be no side movement and no need for the likes of a ride-str8. My 03 Ultra did move some till I shimmed it tight in the rear of the frame, is this all that is really wrong with these bikes? What am I missing here? Manuel

Very true and it can move differently than the trans but these ride-str8 things are only connected to the trans, so if theswingarm moves what are these bolt on cures really doing for that? I'm just not following this yet [&o]

Fixed my wobble by adding a few lbs to the tires. They were a bit low.

I made the shims from shim stock and they are between the frame mount and the metal part of the rubber mount.

I don't think you could make them up before hand. I had the rear wheel off and the shocks off also so I could feal any movement. I just added .010 shims till it would lock up the swing arm, then I removed a shim till it just freed up. Hope it works well for you as it did for mine anyway.

Oh I should also caution you thatyou need to brace the back of the engine when you pull the piviot blocks off as that is the mounting for the engine to the frame there. good luck!
