i find i use my cruise more often when i ride with less people. the more riders there are, the greater the speed differences.
Cruise Control is right up there with the best of the best of inventions. When I ride with other people out on the open highway, I jump out in front and set the pace with the cruise. That way we don't get that "Cruise on, Cruise off" situation.
Installation was easy, though it took about four hours. A factory manual IS mandatory. The instructions leave a few steps out. (Lock removal and initialization)
I dn't have cruise. I will use the thumb lock, but not often. Can cruise even be installed on a bike that has a carb? I think that I read somewhere where it couldn't be done... but what the hell do I know.
You can put cruise on a carbed bike. The Ultras have had cruise control before there was FI.
Just finished installing the cruise control, and it works as it is supposed to. I just got to take a short ride because it's 26 degrees outside, but I can tell I'm going to like it. Should have put one on sooner.
Bill
Bill, how long total did it take you? I just got my unit was going to let the stealer do it, quoted 2 hours. But I can't ride for at least a week any way and I figure that if I can build bacon and bologna slicers I should be able to handle this. I'm going to start in the morning.
Congrats on the Christmas gift and doing the install...Cruise is one of those things that if you never had it, you may not miss it, but if you had it in the past, you can't do without it.
Ilove mine but like said before if you're not the lead dog it's on, off, on and off. Definately a mod must if you do any kind distance riding. Night and day to the thumb screw.[:'(]
