Default RK Police 2004 Siren/Pursuit Switches

Just added a very nice (and loud) Howard's Dual Air horn to my 04 FLHRPI which is activated by a relay connected to the horn switch. I was wondering if it could also be connected to the siren switch to cause it to "whine" like a police siren. ie. is the siren switch just a simple open/closed switch, or does it vary the current being passed to the horn to create the siren effect?

Also, I wanted to add fog lights and connect them to the pursuit switch -- but similar question --are the flashing electronics built into the circuit. If so, I would want to byass the flashing mechanism and just use the on-off function.

So, where would be the best location in the electrical system to tap into the power controlled by these switches for each purpose? TIA

It takes a siren to be a siren, horn is just that a horn, The switch just sends power to the siren it does not create a siren effect. Most times they remove all the mechanics, light, sirens and run flat tires before resale. If you want to re-cop it, ive seen all that stuff on ebay before for sale.

Without the amplifier and speaker, there is no siren effect; the switch is just that--a switch.

As for fog lamps, they use an on/off switch that operates a relay. You could wire the on/off switch to the pursuit/aux switch by splicing into the wiring in the handlebar controls connectors. The wires for the aux/pursuit switch are in slots 7,8 and 9 of the connector; colors of wires are: orange w/ violet stripe, gray w/ black stripe, and green w/ red stripe.

It's a great help to purchase the HD Police Model Service Manual Supplement, primarilty for the wiring diagrams; and the HD Touring Model Service Manual.

Thanks for the information on the wiring pin out for the pursuit switch. I fully intend to get the Police supplement, service manual and owners manual once I can find them E-bay. (The bike didn't come with any manuals) So I can experminet this weekend, can you tell me what pins are used for the siren switch? It looks like I can acces the wires without removing the nacelle with some long nose plyers, but wonder if there is any easy way to take of the nacelle if I really need to get inside.

Glad I found this forum -- great sourceof information.

The horn/siren switch has three wires: Orange/white stripe, slot 1; yellow/black stripe, slot 6; and tan/black stripe, slot 10. The wiring diagram also shows that if you want to use the air horn and Whelen siren seperately then the yellow/black stripe wire should be moved to slot 11. HTH.

Default No power to horn??????

I have a newly purchased 2006 electra glide cop bike. The sirens were removed before it was picked up. Now the Horn does not work. I checked for power and ground and the issue seems to be no power. I checked the fuses which were ok. Is there a rely for the horn. I do not have a manual yet. Or could the wires be wrong due to the removal of all the cop acessories. HELP!!!
