Some Good Biker Philosophy
"Life is a like a **** sandwich......the more bread you got, the less **** you have to eat." - An old neighbor telling me about the benefits of making money.
Tell us who told it to you or where you heard it. Extra cool points if you thought it up yourself and if there is a real good story behind it, share it!
This could get pretty good..........

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, remember this:
A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began he picked up a large empty jar. He proceeded to fill it with golf *****. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles followed into the open areas between the golf *****. He asked the students again if the jar was full. Again they agreed it was. The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course the sand filled up everything else. He asked one more time if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous âyesâ. The professor then produced two glasses of wine from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.
âNow,â said the professor, as laughter subsided, âI want you to recognize that this represents your life. The golf ***** are the important things: your family, your children, your health, your friends, and your favorite passionsâŚthings that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matterâŚlike your job, your house, your car. The sand is everything elseâŚthe small stuff.â
âIf you put the sand into the jar first,â he continued, âthere is no room for the pebbles or the golf *****. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18. Do one more run on the ski slope. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf ***** first, the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.â
One of the students raised her and hand and asked what the wine represented.
The professor smiled, âI'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couples of glasses of wine with a friend.â

Sorry to be a smartass and correct you, I just couldn't see letting Okra get the credit.
By the way I think what we are really discussing here are more than just quotes but aphorisms.

I actually sat through a presentation like this at my sons graduation. A retiring teacher had this and a speech that lasted a frickin hour!
