I like Mudpuddles idea of bending the two crossover tubes down enough to keep the hose off the frame. I just haven't mustered up the cajones yet to do it. So far, all I've done is split another hose and put it under where it rubs.
07 -
I agree - I can't bring myself to bend the tubes.

Post more pics of your shiney Bob - looks nice!!!

Thanks all for the feedback. I was at the dealer today for something totally unrelated and while I was there I picked up one up and went ahead and had the dealer install it.

Glide05, I see exactly what you're talking about regarding the unfinished sections of the fittings being exposed. I'm thinking I may put a drop or two of clear nail polish on those areas to avoid any rust. Or do you have any better suggestions?

Nope -
Nail polish or touch-up paint should do the trick.

I tried to install a 3" tank lift on my 05 lowrider, but I gave up for now. First, there wasn't enough slack in the wiring harness to the console. I'd have to extend the wires or build an extension harness. Second was the crossover problem. When I lift the tank 3", the tankfittings are tooclose tothe frame to allow the crossover line to connect without squeezing it and probably reducing the cross section and the flow. I'm not sure about trying to straighten the tank fittings. If one of them breaks, it is a major repair, or if one is weakened, it could be a disaster someday. They look pretty delicate to me. I can't find a 2" lift for a Dyna, or I might try one. I think it wouldmake the bike look better.

Tow, the line comes in two different lengths,
but, I cannot understand why they do not
offer a third, an inch or so longer....

I'm sure your dealer gave you the longer one.
Might be worth checking.

Regarding tank lifts -
I have bent the tubes downon several tanks.

Sometimes the paint delaminates.
I'm repainting on mine, not an issue.
Some do not delaminate.
clear nail polish......
or, touch up paint.

It's not a "delicate" fitting GaryinSanDiego,
but, you cain't get too violent in your bending.

Mud, just curious, but sometimes you show a pic of what looks like a work in progress ( did I say a piece of ****?) and your signature shows what looks like a '06 or '07 SG? ???
