Primary/Transmission/Driveline/ClutchFind answers to general powertrain, primary and transmission. Have clutch issues and need suggestions? Post them here.
I have a 2007 Road king custom with 2000 miles and when I'm going about 60 in 5th gear and crack the throttle open I get a squeak for about a 1/2 a second while accelerating. Clutch or clutch adj? Sort of sounds like when you have loose belts on carand goose it.
I have the same thing on my 89 Tour Glide but only when wet.
It sounds like it's coming from out front somewhere but I cant really tell.
Let us know when you get it figured out.

My RK does that when it's wet. Thats the drive belt. Never heard it in front of me.
Went by the dealer and told them about the Squeak/Chirp. They said they would need to test ride. I said here you go. The tech came back and said he was able to reproduce the sound but did not know what it was. I asked if it was the belt and they didn't think so. They said to drop it by when they had more time to work on it. I've heard this before. I was reading the new Rider mag and they were doing a write up on the 07 Road King and they talked about the clutch and a chirp when the clutch locked up. Of course I can't imagine why it only happens when I crack the throttle.
I'll look into to that but the sound seems to be comming from in front of me.
Thunderflight. Did you ever find out what was causing your chirping noise? I have the same thing and its driving me nuts. 40 mph in 3rd, 50mph in 4th, 60mph in 5th. Can you help?
