I recently bought this jacket-Vintage HD leather with embroidery/patches/....anyone know what the back symbols mean and maybe an era when this jacket was made??? Thanks

RE: Help-what are these symbols on vintage HD jacket?
Here is a possibility. Whoever owned the jacket was a WWII vet. "V" is for "victory," and the icons at the bottom sure look like guns, indicating he was a tank operator/commander, and his squad took out 8 enemy guns.
If this is the case, I have no idea why rows of 4 and 4 weren't used. Maybe the guy was actually in Desert Storm and was Active Duty, and thinking there would be more "kills."
RE: Help-what are these symbols on vintage HD jacket?
I wondered about that too-that the bottom symbols were a tally of some sort, just can't figure out for what. I think the jacket is maybe from the '70's, but am not sure. The V sure looks like th eone HD uses for the road king, but that didn't arrive til...what, 1984 1/2?

Yeah the 'V" is the same style that HD uses as an accent piece on some of their touring stuff. I have those on each side of my detachable backrest/rack. The other ones sure do look like pistons.
